This weekend, Orlando’s neighbor Winter Park is hosting the Sidewalk Art Festival, chock full of paintings, drawings, sculptures and more. 300,000 visitors are estimated to be in ateendance for the city’s biggest annual event.
Over 200 artists’ works will be displayed in Central Park, where a variety of musical artists will be performing for crowds as they enjoy the art, drinks and food.
This free event had over 1,000 applicants of artists wanting to be featured, and the list was narrowed down to less than 300 total artists participating in the show.
Visitors may bring their own alcohol to the park on Friday, and the fair also offers wine and beer each day while the festival is going on. This festival kicked off at 9:00 a.m. today and runs through the weekend.
For the first time in the event’s history, the poster was created by a digital artist rather than featuring a print of a painting or photograph. This year’s poster features a cafe in the city, rendered by Ken Bowser, a teacher at Full Sail University.
Plenty of new emerging artists will be joining the ranks of more seasoned and well-known artists who have previously displayed their artwork. These new artists were selected by experienced, well-known judges to participate in this year’s festival.
