On Tuesday, August 3rd, the community of Downtown Orlando, Florida will join thousands of communities across the country to celebrate the 27th annual National Night Out. This annual event is a fun way for Neighborhood Watch groups to bring neighbors together as they work to improve crime and drug prevention awareness, generate participation in local anti-crime programs, increase neighborhood spirit and strengthen police-community partnerships.
The event begins with the National Night Out Kick-Off Party on Monday, August 2nd from 5pm to 8pm, hosted by the Orlando Police Department, Target and Orlando Health at the Target store located at 120 West Grant Street, Orlando, FL 32806. This first ever event will feature free food, drinks and entertainment.
Then on Tuesday, August 3rd, the Orlando community will be hosting three block parties throughout the night. The Carter Street neighborhood party runs from 5pm to 9pm, the Bentley/Lee/Livingston neighborhood party runs from 3pm to 7pm and the Freewill Delivery and praise party begins at 6pm. Come out to support Safe Neighborhoods in the City Beautiful with this year’s theme, “Give neighborhood crime a going away party.” This is a great way to meet other Orlando city residents!
