This Saturday, September 26, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society will be hosting a Light the Night walk beginning at Lake Eola in downtown Orlando. The event is set to begin at 5:30 pm near the lake at the corner of Robinson Street and Eola Drive, less than half a mile east of The VUE at Lake Eola, a luxury condo high-rise overlooking scenic Lake Eola.
According to a press release distributed by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the event will kick off with an opening ceremony. Following the ceremonies, the walk begins at 7:45 pm.
Walkers will carry illuminated balloons in a variety of colors; white symbolizing Leukemia survivors, red for supporters, and gold balloons are to represent those who lost the battle with Leukemia.
Though it’s only a few days away, it’s not too late to get involved. This walk is a fund-raising event for blood cancer research as well as assistance for patients and education. You may walk alone or with a group of friends. In 2008, over $39 million was raised by Light the night walks occurring in over 230 regions across the nation.
Even for those not walking for the two-mile event, Saturday’s walk will provide a fulfilling and community-engaging event. Booths and concession stands will be available with food and refreshments at Lake Eola.
The VUE is a new 36-story, 375-unit luxury condo high rise in downtown Orlando, on the corner of Rosalind Avenue and Robinson Street. Walking distance from the developing Performing Arts Center and a great selection of Orlando bars and restaurants, this downtown luxury urban living Orlando high rise overlooks Lake Eola and its surrounding park, providing an unsurpassed luxury urban lifestyle.
