Orlando is home to one of the nation’s largest digital media clusters with more than 1,200 companies, 30,000 employees and collective annual revenues estimated at $9 billion. Mayor Buddy Dyer and the Orlando City Council have a vision to build on the success of Orlando’s digital media industry by redeveloping the existing Amway Arena site into a Creative Village – a place where high-tech companies locate; and employees of those businesses and other residents live, work, learn and play.
Downtown Orlando’s Creative Village will mix living and work spaces in a thoughtful design. The goals of the Creative Village are to attract technology companies, to create a business-friendly environment in which digital media can thrive and to attract knowledge-based workers. The Creative Village will present diverse cultures and enhance the lifestyle of creative people by offering vibrant street life and urban amenities.
District 5 City Commissioner Daisy W. Lynum and the Callahan Neighborhood Association invite the Orlando community on Thursday, July 8 at 6:30pm to learn how the much anticipated Creative Village is beginning to unfold and how you can be part of the Creative Village. The meeting will be held at the Dr. J.B. Callahan Neighborhood Center at 101 N. Parramore Ave. Please join the City Commissioner for a sneak preview of this much anticipated project!
The VUE Lake Eola in Downtown Orlando is located just blocks away the site of the future Creative Village. The VUE is a luxury condo high-rise in Downtown Orlando that offers residents the best of exclusive urban living. Residents of the VUE at Lake Eola live where they work and play and have all the city’s arts and entertainment at their fingertips.
